Adventures with Joy and Kindness: Agoo and Ala and Smiles! / Week 10

Clara seems to have turned a corner with her verbal abilities this week. She is definitely forming sentences with complete thoughts all by herself, and no longer simply mimicking what mommy and daddy say. For example, mommy usually does the first half of bedtime with Clara, while Daddy holds Audrey, then we switch. But Daddy was taking out the trash during the first half of bedtime routine and Audrey was fussing, so I went to get Audrey and Clara looks at me, and firmly says, "Want Daddy sunna hold Audrey!" I told her that Audrey was fussing and daddy will be right back, but mommy needs to hold Audrey right now. So Clara says, "Want Audrey go in her crib!" (runs to Audrey's room), then I heard Clara shout this from Audrey's room, "Right there!!!" :D

She's also learning how to pretend play with her baby doll! First she tried to feed the baby doll in her ear.

Then in her mouth :).

Clara also took a toy and used it to pretend to be a phone in order to act out a scene from Bubble Guppies! So cute! Here we drew our hands together on her new toy.

Audrey's been a doll, sleeping between 6 and 8 hours straight during her first stretch most nights! She even took a 2 hour nap in her mommaroo!

Clara is getting sassier with her desires. One day, she said, "Wanna see Julie and miss Eli." I usually tell her we are going to see "Miss Julie and Eli" but she switched them. Anyways, I told her we haven't seen them for a few weeks. Clara promptly says, "We need to see them!"

Clara still loves Gymboree!

She loves going fast, fast, fast in her car!

And she still loves putting buckets on her head :P.

Uncle Tim came to visit and had a great time playing with Clara!

Other fun things Clara has said: "Here you go daddy." "Thank you." "You're welcome!"

"Mommy is so big! And Daddy is so big! And Audrey is so tiny! And Clara is so tiny!!"

Audrey is sleeping so sweetly here!

Audrey on the other hand is starting to coo and gurgle! She loves to say "Agoo" and "Ala" and smile back at us when we coo at her! Even Clara loves to say Agoo and Ala to Audrey! Yesterday morning, I caught Audrey looking at shadows while cooing and smiling to herself before I officially woke her up. It was adorable!

But sometimes life is like this too :D.

Yeh Yeh got to see Clara and played with her one afternoon!

Momm and Daddy's friends came to visit us from LA! We explored Normal Heights with them :).

And mommy took a picture with a Tardis in a comic book shop!!

"It's my Dory!" was the first thing Clara said when she woke up after taking her new Dory figurine to bed with her. You can see the Dory figurine below. Yes, she's obsessed with Dory :).

Finally, Auntie Jen came to visit Audrey! She was great with Audrey and found a picture she took from when Clara was a newborn too!
