Thirty nine weeks old!

Xinyi has almost been out of the womb as long as she was in! Almost, but not yet!

Our little baby is growing up so fast! At mommy and me class, mommy made art for baby! The string is  as tall as baby!

Then, we put Xinyi in her Star Trek onesie!

Live long and prosper, said daddy!

So happy!

On Saturday, mommy and baby went to a church women's retreat about an hour and a half away. Baby did so great! Two ergo naps and a car nap, but it still wasn't enough because this is what I found on Sunday morning!

An exhausted baby :).

Then after church, we had an impromptu hangout with mommy's college friends!

Xinyi was a hit! Thanks aunties for playing with me!

Hi Auntie Faithy!

When we got home, daddy decided baby needed some different headgear. Haha poor girl!

Xinyi is so sweet :). She has learned her first word, "at" which is cat! She loves Sophia, our kitty, and laughs when she pets her, smiles when she sees her, and constantly crawls after her! Baby crawls normally now, on hands and knees! She waves constantly to anyone who will wave back and is such a a happy baby! And she learned how to sit up by herself!! She's growing so fast!

We love her so much! She's mommy's little marsupial! She sometimes needs some time near mommy, so I put her in the ergo and she recharges... Like a little battery! Then after a little time, she's ready to play again!

Love that smile!

Thirty eight weeks old!

Xinyi is another week older and it's been a full one!

Baby girl is working on that pincer grasp, but so far it's been unsuccessful. Instead, she likes to squish the food in her hands and smear it all over her face. Fun for momma to clean up... Hehe.

Baby also did a bunch of new things this week, including:
- baby learned how to wave hi! When mommy waves to her, she waves back! When she sees herself in the mirror, she waves! When she sees daddy, she waves!
- baby also learned how to give high fives! Daddy taught her how to high five!
- baby stood by herself for half a second! She's really working on her balance :).

She still loves peek-a-boo and dances to music and is finally maybe learning how to get down to the ground by herself from standing. Can't wait because then she might not cry as much when she's stuck standing.

But she's still my little sleeping beauty! She looks like she's dancing :).

Xinyi still loves to cuddle with daddy!

This is baby's concentrating face, so cute!

And a happy selfie!

Nai Nai bought baby a walker and she loves loves loves it! She can move forwards and backwards, but sideways and corners are still tough for her :).

Xinyi also had a baby play date with Jean-Luc! Last time they met they were itty bitty babies!

On Saturday, along with her play date, she also got to meet and play with lots of mommy and daddy's friends! She loved it! So did we :).

Love her smile! She's so proud of herself. Mommy is less happy because she has dried up teething biscuit all over ... Everywhere. Lol. But that's life :)

And then yesterday, Auntie Koki came to visit and play with Xinyi! She brought a gift from the Doctor! :O! Hehe turns out Auntie Koki is a fan of Doctor Who as well. Love it! On display are also some birthday gifts mommy received. Thanks friends and husband!

And finally, I leave you with this amazing side by side brought to my attention by Auntie Eupheme. So accurate, I can barely tell which one is baby. :D!

Thirty seven weeks old!

Hello world! My name is Xinyi and I can do new things!

First, I learned to "shake it off" to Taylor Swift! These pictures don't do it justice, but baby girl knows how to and loves to dance!
Baby also learned how to walk while pushing her laundry basket! She looks like an old lady with a walker, it's so cute! Too bad I didn't get any pictures! Next time :)

On Friday, our snuggle bug came back from mommy and me class and wanted some quality time with daddy. Parachute time is still a no no for baby, but other than that she loves it! She's quite the passive baby, not even crying or complaining when other babies take the toy she's playing with!

Here's mommy and baby sitting together! She's sitting so we'll all by herself :).

On Friday night, Xinyi had fun with Auntie Sophie and Auntie Eileen!

Mmmm, yummy cell phone cover!

That night, Xinyi also learned how to sleep exactly like a Tetris shape! *cue Tetris music*

And also like a superhero. I'm super girl!

Nai Nai and Yeh Yeh came to visit and had so much fun with baby!

Xinyi was fascinated with Yeh Yeh's mustache!

So cute!

Unlike this happy picture, baby has also started having separation anxiety. Even to the point where sitting next to mommy isn't enough. She has to be sitting on mommy. Oh boy! This will be fun :).

But look at this face! How could I not let her be as close as she wants to be! We love her so!

Thirty six weeks old!

This was a big week for Xinyi!

Last Wednesday, after mommy put up the weekly post, she discovered baby's first tooth is coming out!!! It's a blurry pictures and you can't really see it, but there's a toothie coming through! Baby is no longer toothless :).

Then on Friday, mommy and baby went to a new mommy and me class! We had a lot of fun. Another baby even kissed Xinyi on the head! Her favorite part was exploring the new place and new toys. Her least favorite part was the parachute game, where the mommies collectively waved a large parachute over all the babies who were sitting the the ground. Baby decided that wasn't for her and cried out! It was the only time she cried and she was the only baby to cry during parachute time :(.

Here's a mommy baby selfie while waiting for lunch :).

On Saturday, baby watched her first UCLA game via television! Go Bruins!

Then on Sunday, Xinyi went to the nursery at church for the first time! Mommy went with her, and she played so nicely with the four other babies. The other volunteers said Xinyi was a calm baby! Yay! Hopefully she will remain calm at the end of this month when my rotation ends for the quarter. :)

Then on Monday, baby started giving us her new smile. Daddy calls it a Frankenstein smile!

Normal smile

Tilt the head up.

Get ready, set,

Frankenstein smile!

And again!

Annnnd again!

Tilt head to the side.

And one more for good measure!

We love you, Frankenstein smile!
