In less than 10 weeks, we're expecting baby A to make her appearance. I ordered this pendant from Etsy because I wanted to have and wear a pendant for baby A too.
This pregnancy has been different in little ways from Clara's. First, I'm not working and second, I have Clara... so I am both much more distracted and much less distracted at the same time. I also think that baby A is much more active at this stage than Clara was. It could also be that I'm more aware of the movements, or that I've forgotten how active Clara was... but it could also be that this one is just more wiggly! I feel her kick and move all through the day, all through the night, and she is strong! She loves to move my belly, and kick and roll, and kick some more!
Shane and I (and our families) are all patiently awaiting her arrival. Sweet Xinyi was blissfully oblivious and for the longest time, she seemed to not have any concept of the baby in mommy's tummy. She always pointed to her own tummy when I ask her where baby A is... probably because I point to my own belly to show her... and she gets confused. But recently, we've been reading some baby sister books and talking more about baby A and she seems to be getting the idea!
I tell Xinyi that she is "jei jei baby" and in mommy's belly is "mei mei baby." (Jei jei in Chinese is older sister, and mei mei in Chinese is little sister). She is very proud to be jei jei baby, and is gentle with mommy's belly when I ask her where mei mei baby is. We also have been showing her the ultrasound pictures and saying it's baby A. She says, "more picture baby A!"
Shane and I wonder what baby A will be like, all the while knowing there is no way of knowing. We are so excited to have another little to love, and for Clara to have a mei mei. We hope they will be good friends, from early on through all their lives. But our greatest hope for both our girls is that they know they are so loved -- by us, by our families, and by God.
Until we see you, baby A, know that you are so so loved!
