She also is continuing to memorize books and "read" them to me and to herself. This week, she has read her bedtime book almost word for word for what mommy reads every night. (I edit it for smaller words and shorter paragraphs because the book is a little old for her.)
Clara also surprised mommy by showing me that she knows sight words! :O. I wrote out the word "cow" for her, expecting to have her tell me the letters and me tell her the word. She just looked at it and said, 'spells cow'! Then I wrote "cat" and she said "cat!" And then apple and she said, "is what kind of fruit? an apple!" Then last night, for fun, I wrote out "banana" and went through the letters and said spells banana. Also carrot. Daddy came home an hour or so later and asked her what the words were, and she said "banana" and "carrot"! Who is this child?!
Sweet sisters sitting together!
Clara came to mommy with four hair ties (and already having one in her hair) and asked mommy to put them in her hair. So mommy obliged :D.
Here she is reading a book to me!
Such beautiful girls!
At the park on a rare "cold" day!
Clara sporting her brand new outfit from Grammy!
Mommy and Clara took a special trip to the zoo! Clara ate her apple and watched the penguins and sharks for a looong time. She loves the "aquarium at the zoo" ... :)
Audrey wearing pants for the the first time in a long time!
Costco with the kids!
Mommy with all the kids waiting for Grammy to come out. I got some fun looks from passer-byers.
My papparazzi shot of Clara and her sunglasses!
Mommy has slowly been preparing Clara for preschool by talking about school, shifting her schedule, and having her bring her backpack on outings. She loves it, and is so so cute!
Clara at the Aquarium! Perhaps her favorite outing!
Clara at Nai Nai's house.
This week, Clara has continued to shock mommy with her fully formed and contextually correct sentences, all without prompting from mommy. Daddy always puts Clara to bed at night, and he did so on Friday. Then Saturday morning came around and daddy woke her up, usually mommy wakes her up. She looks at Shane and goes, "You came back." Heart melt!
Then last night, mommy was doing dishes inside while daddy was outside in the backyard with the girls. Clara runs to the screen door and says, "Come you come outside now?" Ahhh!
And this morning, I woke Clara up and she quietly snuggles and says, "I love you." I don't think my heart can take it!
Audrey has also been a brave girl as we started nap training this Monday. She is doing pretty well, with some protests, but is falling asleep by herself in her crib with minimal crying. Now to work on longer naps :).
I chose this picture because it shows the wonder of her cheeks! And neck rolls! And arms rools! And chubby thighs! Augh! My baby!!!
21 sweet weeks with two sweet girls <3.
