The Tortoise, the Ballerina, and the Doll / Week 48

It's been a hard start of a week, as mommy's best mom friend and Clara's little bestie moved away! We had a great last outing at Target though, and will see them soon for a visit hopefully! Our last and only picture of all four kids together!

While Clara was napping, Audrey finally got her hands on Clara's potty dolls! Oh yes, this is how we potty trained her, by having her earn Disney Princess dolls. She has done really well and is even telling lovey that she pees on the potty. Literally, she said to her Lovey: "Lovey! I pee peed on the potty!"

The other day, I was cutting broccoli for dinner and she said, I want some! I asked her if I could cut it up for her and she said no. So there she went.

Also, look at this giant tortoise. I don't know what his name is, but Clara asked me what his name was, so I named him Henry. She calls him "Penery"

She was a little bit afraid of him, but the other neighborhood kids weren't!

Henry even went to visit the fake tortoise. :D

Grammy and Grampy bought shoes and a tutu (and a leotard and tights, not pictured) for Clara's imminent dance class! She is so excited and so are we!

We saw a baby lizard who wasn't afraid of us on our daily walk yesterday. Clara loves to see lizards!

Audrey's favorite thing to do right now is say her words, "bup" "guk" "duck" and "wawa" -- mostly bup. So now we call her bup. Happy 48th week bup :).

Audrey 11 months!

It's the month of pre-words! Audrey is learning some words and expanding the noises she can make! She's moved on from "at" for cat to "ack" for cat. She says "bup" for up, and duck is actually pretty much duck! She also said "wawa" for water! and "guk" for milk. 

She loves putting her fingers in holes and exploring textures, as seen in the picture below. She is digging her finter into the unicorn's nostril. She is pleasant and easy going, and loud and demanding, all depending on her mood! She eats everything most of the time, and other times unceremoniously pushes food back out of her mouth and lets it fall into her bib. 

She still loves Clara most and finds everything she does hilarious. I often drive the two of them around listening to the sounds of them giggling at each other. It's pretty much the cutest!

And every once in a while I can catch this amazing smile!

Only one more month until you are one! How can that be!?

Aquarium Fun and Sleepyheads / Week 47

This week was a more tame week, less pictures, but lots of fun!

Here's Clara in a little car outside of Toys r us! 

I went outside to put some toys away and Audrey followed me as far as she could... to the sliding glass door :D.

Clara earned lots of dolls this last week! She's turned the corner on potty training and is now doing great!

Fun hair styles! I need to practice more to get them tighter, but Clara loves having hair like a different princess every day!

Costco trip! Clara is eating the hot dog, and Audrey is eating the bun!

Mommy was keeping Audrey from opening the kitchen drawers, so she decided to put her toy on my hand instead!

And Audrey spreading Clara's snack on the floor, she found it, dumped it on the floor and (after this picture was taken) took her little hand and swiped the snacks all over the floor.... Mommy was helping Clara with the potty.

We went to the Aquarium! So fun! Clara wanted to see every single tank and wanted to know every fish. She hasn't ever wanted to do that before, before she wanted to run around! But we haven't been for a few months, so she's grown up in that time!

Happy Audrey is now crusing tentatively around furniture and army crawls quickly! She is adamant about her wants and makes her desires really known! But she can also be so pleasant and will play for long periods of time if whatever toy she has interests her!

Clara is enjoying school and starting pretend play with dolls! Yesterday, she took our "baby Audrey doll" (the doll we bought her to be her "Audrey" when Audrey was born) and held her hands and helped the doll to walk across the floor! She said, "Look, I'm helping baby Audrey walk, just like mommy!" She is putting dolls down for naps before her own naps, putting a blanket over them and patting them on the head and saying "have a good nap!" She loves to feed Audrey and mommy and wants to do everything herself. She is so fun and so articulate!
