Cat = "tuh!" / Week 40

We missed our Wednesday post because Tuesday night, Clara woke up screaming with a high fever and I took the girls in to the doctor’s office to make sure they were okay. We have been sick basically all of December on and off and I just couldn’t do it again. Clara tested negative for the flu and woke up Wednesday fever free. 

Here she is after her school birthday celebration in the hat they made her and her new queen Elsa apron. 

And mommy finally got Clara the little people Disney princess figurines for her castle. She is obsessed!

Audrey on the other hand woke up with a fever on Monday (three days ago) but also has been fever free since then.

That hasn’t stopped mommy from squishing her sweet face though!

On Sunday, daddy brought the baby to mommy in bed and we cuddled 💕.

We also had a great outing to islands!

Sweet baby Audrey was dropped off in the nursery for the first time on Sunday and she did great! No crying or fussing! She even four arm flapped her way back into mommy’s arms when we were reunited!

And a sweet impromptu trip to the zoo with Clara’s bestie. 

Audrey’s newest favorite toy... mommy’s hair. 

Audrey is so full of joy and fun! She is so good at telling us what she wants now, from fussing or crying as her way of saying no or pick me up, to closing her mouth tight and turning her head away when she doesn’t want whatever I’m offering, to big smiles and big cries over different emotions she’s feeling. She lights up when she sees mommy, daddy, Clara and Sophia. She cries when she is left alone even for a second and is a very sticky baby right now (doesn’t want to be put down or left at all). She loves eating whatever mommy is eating and doesn’t want to eat baby food anymore. She also is saying “tuh!” For cat! She loves saying dada and babababa and tiz and mmmmmm. And she chews on everything. 

She loves stacking toys, nesting cups, putting balls down ramps and putting smaller toys in boxes or baskets. It’s like she already loves to clean up! It’s adorable!

Clara continues to blossom at school, loving being helper and playing with her friends. She is learning to share with Audrey and still loves making Audrey laugh. Her favorite thing to do right now is get right in Audrey’s face and yell, “oh what’s wrong Audrey????” When she is crying. It’s both hilarious and adorable and a little ridiculous all at the same time. 40 weeks with two sweet girls!

Audrey 9 months!

Audrey is now 9 months old. This last week, she turned as many weeks old as she was in the womb! That's always a fun milestone for me, personally. I love knowing that my baby is now twice as many "weeks" old.

She is still a baby, but she's growing and learning so fast! I really, really love the little pudgy dimples on the back of her hand. Clara doesn't have the pudgy dimples anymore, so I am loving these little dimples!

These sweet sisters love each other so much! 

They love to be around each other and Clara loves to kiss her and Audrey loves to laugh at everything Clara does! 

Audrey loves exploring things with those sweet pudgy hands! Like my face, or my hair. She also likes scratching the texture of things with her pointer finger, on either hand, when she finds something interesting. She also loves to chew on things with her tiny teeth.

She's learning how to put smaller toys inside bigger toys, little balls into cups, and different shaped toys into buckets! Audrey's also loving standing while learning on furniture or holding on to someone's fingers. She loves to sit and stand, but isn't too big on crawling unless it's her own idea first. :) Audrey also has been saying lots of "t/d" sounds -- like da-da, di-da, ta, da, at, it, and, her favorite, tiz. She knows what lots of words mean, but other than dada, no other consistent words have emerged from her sweet little mouth. Mommy works on her every day, trying to get her to say "mama" and she usually responds, "Dada!"

Clara's Third Birthday / Week 39

This week we continued being sick, but fortunately, Clara was basically all better for her big third birthday! Here's some selfies daddy took with a cuddly sick Audrey.

I'm so glad we got Clara a pillow for Christmas so that she could use it... while sleeping... or not :P.

She also gave her a hug and spontaneously said, "I love you sister!"

The morning of Clara's birthday, she got surprised with lots of Frozen wrapped presents, in Frozen wrapping paper. Since we just had Christmas a week ago, she started off pulling each present out of the pile and saying, "and this one is for ...?" while looking at Shane and me. After a while, she got the hang of it!

Then Grammy and Grampy surprised Clara with her own Frozen bike! She also got a scooter (not pictured).

Then after her nap, Clara woke up and said, "Okay, time for more Frozen presents!!" :D

Then for New Year's Day, we went over to Grammy and Grampy's for a bbq!

So much fun with these kids!

Yesterday, mommy sent Clara off to school again (yay!) with some cupcakes to celebrate her birthday belatedly with her classmates. So mommy and Audrey played... or was it, Mommy played with Audrey? :)

While mommy played with Audrey, Clara did some beautiful hand art work!

Mommy sent Grammy's yummy cupcakes to school and they made her a birthday crown and sang to her! She was so happy!

Then we came home and Clara played played plaaayed with her new princess castle <3.

Disaster zooonee strikes again!

Sweet Audrey has now almost been out as long as she’s been in!! One more day 😊. Love you!
